I have nothing against homosexual people. Nice people, funny, generally they are neat. Move into your neighborhood the property value goes up because everything is fabulous. Nothing but positive affects. Plus they can't reproduce, so they don't make more in the way people.

Good for him. He still crushed the Chameleon pattern.

I'm in the process of trying to find out where I fit in the bowling world. I do not know my tech specs of my game, but it's all a learning process.

It would matter if it was a contact sport....and on top of that I find it interesting that he wrote the article and has been openly gay for at least 5+ years....did this need to be said? or written?

Anyways, I would like to take this opportunity to say I am openly heterosexual....to quote Seth McFarlane...I like vagina!

Roto Grip actually has an article on their site about it.  As far as I'm concerned, I could care less if he is gay or not- that's his choice.  Just show up and compete like everyone else, and he has proven he can do that.   Scott did that in a big way when he annihilated Sean Rash, which was fun to watch.

Russell, you asked why this is news.  It's because of "enlightened" individuals like this person who feels that a gay person is going "push that type of lifestyle my way" instead of just mind their business and keep their sex life private like 99% of most people do, either gay or straight.  And of course, he'll imply that there will be violence on the .0001% chance a gay person would find him attractive and approach him.

When I saw that telecast, I figured he was on the the fem side, but so what,he turned out to be an excellent bowler and one that is capable of winning a tournament on a national level. My feeling on the whole gay thing is,is that if a person is that persuation,so be it,just don't push that type of life style my way or we are gonna have a problem.

It's sad that in this day and age, that anyone still gives a crap who's gay and who's straight. The kid can bowl, and for the purposes of this bowling website, that is the only thing he should be judged on.

Ehh, it ended up as news because ESPN made a big deal about the Phoenix Suns exec who came out.  There's perceived pressure for a highly visible athlete to do so during his playing career just so that the issue can be addressed and be over.  Bowlers however would not be considered highly visible.

There's plenty of close minded people that take offense to such things, so if it stirs controversy...it can be called news.

As I have stated before it is a blatant attempt by the PBA to exploit a person to gain attention. If it was such newsworthy why did not only the PBA but Scott not post anything till months after he won? And he has won a couple of regionals as well. This is not newsworthy....it attention hungry

Got to be kidding. Role model for gay athletes. I just can't wrap my brain around that one. This has nothing to do with anything. This guy is not a role model for anything.

Those that can do. Those that can't complain. Pimpin ain't easy, but it's mandatory.

so now is it needed for every professional athelete to announce whether they are gay or straight? this has nothing to do with the talent with any individual performing at their greatest level in their sport. As if it wasnt obvious enough, he should have jus kept his mouth shut and left it as it was.

That's interesting.  "As if it wasn't obvious enough".  What the hell does that mean?  And what was it that made it so obvious?  Also get a kick out of this:  "He should have just kept his mouth shut and left it alone".  Why?  So you could still feel comfortable talking about him?  I love this out of date thinking and attitude.
