Would you been interested in…
« on: May 18, 2015, 10:30:59 PM »
I was sitting in a conference today and I wondered are there any bowling conferences in the USA?  The only one that crossed my mind was bowl expo, which I don’t think is cheap to attend.  Are there any others or any internationally?

What I’m talking about it people presenting information, either knew ideas or information that could potentially help your bowling game or knowledge of the game.  With topics potentially covering: lane play, bowling balls and layouts, spare shooting, physical game, mental game, exercise and nutrition…etc.

If there was something like this would you be interested?  If yes, what would you pay to attend if there was some big names involved giving the presentations?

Given the right people presenting I think I would be willing to fork over a bit of money for something like this.  I would think this would be more helpful than a new bowling ball, although I'm sure it would be hard to convince some people of this.

Don't some of the well-known coaching clinics cover most of that?

There are different distributors that put on different type of events that include different guest speakers,  ball demos,  sales ect. Ranging from marketing and sales,  drilling,  product information,  coaching ect.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

MI 2 AZ...I didn't even think about this.  Time to look into some clinics and see where they are and what they cost.  I'm sure most of them will be too far away from me to attend.

Interesting...I'm assuming that you would need to either be in the pro shop/bowling business or know someone who was to attend or learn about these?

The more I'm thinking about this, pretty much all options include the cost of travel somewhere for me and more than likely at least 4+ hours as I'm pretty much in the middle of nowhere.  Most likely any of the clinics that MI 2 AZ is referring to would probably require a plane ticket and 3+ days off of work, which I also need to factor into the cost.  What about an online clinic or conference?

I've attended a couple online conferences in other industries that allowed me to attend the conference without having to travel and I don't see why this concept wouldn't work for bowling.  Minus the hands on instruction but I'm sure some of the clinics/events don't even do personal instruction.

Most online or in person conferences are geared towards people in the industry.  Proshops ect. Same for any industry/business conference.
