PBA Tour experience
« on: December 15, 2006, 05:39:23 AM »
I looked to see if this would be offered anywhere near spokane, nope.

Is it offered in your area?  If so, will you be bowing why/why not?

This summer it will be offered here in the Greater Detroit Area.  It will take place on Wednesday nights at Sunnybrook Lanes in Sterling Heights.

I am 50/50 on this...I totally would love to, but I am getting pretty burnt out and am thinking of taking the summer off.

I know of one house offering it starting in January, 15 weeks, 9 PM start.

While tempted, I don’t plan to bowl in it.

1)   I already bowl in 2 leagues and really don’t want to bowl in another.
2)   The hassle of trying to get together a team.
3)   It is a late league and is 20 miles from my home.

No league in my immediate area. However, there is buzz of a summer league that will use several of the pba patterns. I will be bowling in that league...

Our house has been doing this for years in the form of a Wednesday night sweeper.  It has never been sanctioned and probably never will be because of the ridiculous process of becoming a Sport Bowling center and then charging bowlers an additional $9 to sanction under Sport/PBA bowling rules.  We have had a couple 300's bowled on these patterns.  Since it can not be awarded through the USBC, the center chipped in and bought the bowlers personalized bowling shirts commemorating the event.

We are working on one for this summer at Greenway Bowl, Odenton, MD.  It will be a singles league, 4 games, on Wednesday nights and will probably run for 10-12 weeks.

Considering the way I've been bowling lately...you wouldn't know it...but I'll fess up to bowling one of those 300's

Back to your regularly scheduled topic...

Considering I have the sweeper the KMA's house runs...I'd probably pass on an Experience League...
As far as other houses in my area...I haven't heard whether any are going to jump on board or not...but I would be intrigued to see how they turned out

Have not it seen it offered in El Paso. One house claims it will cost them too much money to run.Alot of my friends would love to bowl on those patterns.

Bill,

Looking forward to this, I hope I can rearrange my schedule to allow me to bowl down there this summer...

Decisions, decisions.  It'll either be this league or the Wednesday one at Five Star.

The BAD thing about Sunnybrook is they're so skimpy with air conditioning during the summer and bowling on these kinds of shots in heat wouldn't be much fun.  On the other hand Five Star is like a meat locker during the summer.
