Torch bowling ball questions
« on: April 04, 2012, 08:30:15 AM »
Has anyone ever thrown this equipment?  I am interested because I throw mainly Lane Master equipment. Now that they are history, I found this company.

Are they USBC approved?

thanks for any info anyone might have.

Never heard of them. Lord Field is kinda a spinoff of Lanemasters while they use 2piece construction and use some of the old Lanemasters/legend cores.

ITS NEVER THE BALL OR THE LANES FAULT, ITS OPERATOR ERROR.

I believe that Genesis is a South Korean entity who acquired the assets / rights of Lane Masters following their bankruptcy proceedings. The LM site in Stockton is still making balls apparently (they sent me a Buzz PE in the last week, so they are stilll active at least for a while.  They also sent me a Terminator R by mistake but that's another story). It might be that Torch is the US presence of Genesis Bowling?

Lord Field which is also Korean is not a spin-off of LM, as Tony Martin has gone to great lengths to explain on other postings here & on other sites.  The cores common to LM & LF balls are because their patents belong to a Japanese designer so they are available to whoever gets permission to use them. Clearly LF have decided that it is the right time to expand into the US market. I say good luck to them!
