Tournament balls, league balls or both
« on: November 04, 2004, 04:49:46 AM »
Does anyone have balls they would only "normally" use in tournaments?  I have a few.  It goes like this:

Tournament:

Super Carbide Bomb-->cg axis
Shock Zone Pro-->4 3/8 by 3 3/8
Werewolf--> pin below ring, cg kicked out about 4 x 3
Inferno--> 4 1/2 by 3 1/2
Ravage-->control layout
Spare

League:
Bone XS
Sledgehammer
PG purple/green

Other:
RG Sonic X pearl

I don't see the reason to use by newer equipment in league anymore.  I do use my inferno on tuesday night frequently but overall the rest stay in the basement.

I normally take two pearl resins (Nighthawk M2 for arc, Silver Streak Pearl for snap), pearl urethane, and plastic to league.  Everyone once in a while, they'll use more oil, so I'll trade out the urethane for my Thing.  I have a few balls (Animal, Angle Evolution Tour) that don't get any use except for tournaments.  The Animal excels on flat shots with head oil, and the AET is my flood ball.  The urethane and snappy pearl resin that I use for league get plenty of use in my tournaments.

Right now I bring with me to leagues the following:

Animal
Eraser Pearl Particle
Hot Wire
Target Zone (spares)

What I will bring with me to tournaments though will include those 4 and my 2 other pieces:

Barbed Wire
El Nino Wrath

I find in the leagues that I bowl in that pretty much covers everything I need, one particle, one particle pearl, one resin and plastic for spares or if there is nothing on the lane.
