I see in an article in today's Detroit Free Press that the PBA World Championship, which will hold it's early rounds at Taylor Lanes in Taylor MI, will hold the last two days of the event at the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti. They had the finals at the Taylor Sportsplex last year, and drew over 2000 people. The reason for the move is that the Ypsi site offers room for over 4000.
The article doesn't say if this would be the largest crowd ever to see a PBA event. Does anyone know?
I read this in the newspaper. Their website shows the headline for the article, but I can't get the link to work. Maybe you'll have better luck.

I don't believe that the expected 4000 people that will fill the convocation center will be the largest to see a PBA final. I believe that the largest crowd was at the 1995 U.S Open in Detroit. The preliminary rounds were held at Bowl-1 Lanes in Troy Michigan and over 7000 people came out to see the finals at the Joe Louis Arena. The event was eventually won by Dave Husted.

The link worked fine for me, Shiv.

Through the cobwebs of my memory (sounds like a song cue...) I think I vaguely remember what you say and I think you are right.
