PBA/PWBA Local Pros Bowling in your League/Tournaments?
« on: March 21, 2006, 08:16:05 AM »
I know this is a re-post, but it has been awhile since I've heard
from everyone about this. Being in Northern California, the only
Exempt PBA Pro represented from our area is San Bruno's own Tony Reyes.

I am posting this, because I'm excited to say that our team is bowling
against former Team USA & Multi PWBA/LPBT titlest Kim Terrell's team.
Kim is originally from the S.F. Area.

Both Tony and Kim went to San Jose State University and represented their
collegiate team.

She is a class-act and is always friendly. Kind of nervous to be
bowling against her tonight, but it should be fun and we get to pick
her brain some more!

Anyone else with former PBA or PWBA players from your area bowling in your
leagues or local tourneys? If so, who are they? This would be neat to
know!

Thanks,
Rammy Haggar

I'll second that!!  I was lucky enough to meet Kim when she was in town for a show/demo day two years ago.  They offered lessons with her and only 2 of us took them up on the deal!!  So for a night of open bowling practice, I got to meet a great bowler, got a free lesson and an autographed pic!!

Orlando, FL.
Bowled against John and Kendra Gaines last night in tuesday night league.  They're both extremely busy with work, so they don't bowl as much as they'd like anymore.  Kendra still coaches our team when she can and helps us out with drillings and lane play.

I bowled on a scratch league in Crofton, MD in 1992 and 1993 where John and Kendra bowled.  Kendra was high average on the league at 220 plus.  It was a lot of fun to bowl against them.

Sean Rash, Nathan Bohr, Rick Steelsmith, and Lonnie Waliczek bowl in the scratch travel league when they are in town.

Justin Hromek, Tim Penner, Matt McFayden used to bowl the tour full time and bowl in the scratch league.

Chris Barnes and Pat Healey bowled when they still lived here.

Plus so many others I can’t begin to name them all.

Yah this is a sore spot with me.  We have a couple of ex tour player around here now and they dominate everything.  For example our local match game tourney that we had happened to fall on same week that bill o neil made it to round of 8 almost made telecast, didnt so he came to our tourney and proceeded to breeze through the tourney and take all the money.  I understand if there is no rules keeping them out then it is fair game for them.  But that is like for example tiger woods going to one of the local big money ametuer tournaments on an off week and detroying the field it just not fair.  And that why pro golfers cant play in ametuer events same should be with the pro bowlers out on tour they shouldnt be able to bowl in local ametuer tourneys period!

Boy do I love bowling, stone 8,stone 9, ringer 7,fly by 10,fast six got to love this game.  Short look at what most of my games look like with a few strikes peppered in between.  Isn't it wonderful.
