Pearl Particle Help Needed
« on: March 06, 2004, 06:26:40 PM »
Up the back style (10-30 degree) stroker(who can vary ball speed & fingers in the ball) looking for a Pearl Particle ball recommendation for second shift/transition conditions with slightly drying heads, spotty midlanes and moderate backend carrydown.
I'm confused between the option of backend heavy angular choices such as Hammer's Vicious Strike/Lane #1's Golden Nugget and backend arcing choices such as Dyno-Thane's Vendetta Pearl Particle/Storm's Eraser Pearl Particle.
I realize it's difficult to make a blind recommendation, but just based on my general delivery style, can a suggestion(s) be made?
All ideas, options and opinions welcomed.
FYI: While my ball driller fits my hand into the ball very well, he seems to make choices based on his 'flavor' of the month/quarter. I.e... Last quarter it would have been anything Storm, this quarter it's anything Hammer...
TIA
Pins at the beach are top heavy; therefore, the scores are higher.

Well, you generate midlane roll with your release, so go with a ball that will turn harder, like the vicious strike or something close to it.  Particles would not suit you too well, since you would not have a real "defined" backend, due to the combination of the ball and your style.  Try something reactive, like a vicious strike, an x factor, or inferno.

And if the driller tries to push stuff on you, just don't listen unless it's actually a good suggestion.  What he wants you to buy doesn't mean it's what you should buy.  Just be polite if you decline, though.

Hmmm reading your stats I see that you throw somehow like me, I am nobody to give real advice, but I'll tell you that for that condition a Ebonite V2 Clean really works, Its really clean and predictable and it has very good reviews on it... I own a V2 pearl and have thrown a friends V2 Clean, its really good...

With you being open to Lane #1 equipment I'd recommend a Black Cherry Bomb with their length drilling. I bowl in the late league at my center on similar conditions and it's good for them. You might also consider the Uranium saw. This ball has more skid/snap than anything I've ever seen.
