Pearlized ball

Anyone here have no luck with Pearlized ball ? Is there anyway to change that ? If you are more speed dominant, will removing the polished on the pearlized ball help ?

Pearlized equipment often gets too over-under for me. I like to knock the polish of IN MOST CASES, but not all.

In general, though, I prefer to get a solid ball and polish it up when I need a longer reaction. It seems to eliminate the over-under by getting rid of the pearlized coverstock altogether.

SO it's not necessary to have a pearlized ball in one's arsenal ? Just get another solid and polished it and you will get the same type of reaction ?

No, you will not USUALLY get the SAME reaction from a polished solid as from a pearl, but if you are speed dominant, it may be necessary.

With the same surface and the same drilling, pearls usually act slightly differently from solids. It's the nature of what makes a pearl a pearl and makes it different from a solid, in most companies.

Polishing my Dimension will not get me the same reaction as my Second Dimension.  The Second Dimension grabs harder off the dry boards and covers more ground overall than a polished Dimension.  The stiffer coverstock gives it an entirely different footprint.

I rarely can use a highly-polished pearl.  I almost always sand pearls to either 1000 or 2000 abralon, then polish it by hand instead of using a spinner.  This gets me a much smoother, more predictable motion off the breakpoint while still being much cleaner through the front part of the lane than a sanded ball.

I have a few pearls that are at 2000 and I love them. After a few shots they look shiny anyway, but the read on the lane is much better for me.

Second Dimension comes to mind.  Not super low but low enough.  There's also the Smash Zone, Psycho, Playmaker, and Gravity Shift.

Strike Domination listed some good low RG pearls. There are others like the One Pearl, Hot Sauce, Vibes. Most manufactures have some. Look for RG values of 2.52 or less.

You also have the Kinetic Pearl, as a Low RG ball at 2.46.
There is alot of pearl stuff with a low RG.
