People and bowling
« on: March 21, 2005, 03:10:20 AM »
I just wanted to speak up (I am sure this topic has been spoken many times) and say that the people that get involved with bowling are usually very nice.

I know the people that bowl in my center have been bowling there for years, and each and every one of them are like family. There are those that are little more serious, and bluntly can be jerks when they bowl, but they are still great people.

I am not sure what the future is going to bring with the younger group coming up, but I am sure that bowling is going to continue to offer up the best people in the world.

I happen to bowl in a league on Tuesdays where everyone roots each other on, congratulate people for good shot making and high games and generally have fun while seeing how we can compete against each other.

Tonight I saw a fellow lefty on another team leave a 2-7-10 split and pick it up. I went over to congratulate him on his good shot and he came back with "I'm surprised you would thank me..." because he was noticing how many strikes I was throwing during the course of the night.

To me I love watching the other bowlers bowl as much as I enjoy bowling myself. I love the stories that come up from night to night, seeing old friends and making new memories to cherish. I think the youth will continue to keep the sport going as us veterans have been going for years and years...
