Anyone have or tried out this product?

I don't have the Innovator product, but I do have the competing NuBall product:

I can only comment by looking at the Innovative picture, but I like that the tub is a single unit. The NuBall side wall and base are separate, which is no big deal, but I'd prefer it to be integrated.
I can't tell if the Innovative unit has an adjustable thermostat. It's not a deal breaker, but it's a nice feature on NuBall. Check that out.

All I know is $80 price difference in favor of Innovative's product. (yes, I realize that the NuBall initially sold for an intraductory price of something like $179).
Either way, I still find it hard to buy a food dehydrator for that kind of money.

Not everybody is into build your own. Really, a unit for less than $200 that is going to literally last forever, the price is not a big deal.
I do agree that it's hard to justify the $80 difference between the two products. I'm happy with NuBall, but with the price difference I'd go with the Innovative unit if I was buying today.

They are literally splitting hairs on the units as you have discussed. If you look at the top view of the innovative product you will notice it is the exact same lid as the nuball with different decals added. Not innovative in my opinion but amusing.
The easiest DIY version I have seen is buying that model food dehydrator at bed bath and beyond ($60) then ordering the expansion trays online for another $10 to 15. You just cut the all the trays to allow the bowling ball to sit inside and your done. That keeps your cost for the same product under $100.
