Just now I saw one too many and too vital a spelling mistake. Not to be too fixated on spelling mistakes, I try to just interpret what people mean, but when they spell the name of a bowling ball incorrectly, I just don't understand it. I mean they have to see the ball's name 49 or 7,000 times on this web site alone, no less the manufacturer's own web site plus, possibly, many others.
I mean is it that hard to communicate effectively?
We do have a spellcheck function right here; it takes all of 30 more seconds to check it out; so, people don't have to re-read everything you wrote 17 times before making sense of what you wrote.
Folks, the easier it is to read and understand your statement, question or concern, the easier it is for others to reply and for the discussion to give you some results.
(The "spellcheck" function, called here, "Check Spelling", in my entire post, did not like only the word, "spellcheck".)

It's the internet, seriously. You should expect mistakes. People type to fast, or are just too lazy to hit "backspace". It has nothing to do with school systems sucking (even though they do). It's just because people are too lazy to go over typos. And the people who think "teh" is the best word ever.

charlest,
What the heck are you talking about in this thread (half way down)?

Not a spelling mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.
You usually do not make mistake at all, so when I see one, I have to call you out!
BTW, people are generally lazy. They don't like using the 'spellcheck' button, they also don't know what a 'search' function is.

I agree 100% I must say that at least you got nicer responses. A few months ago I put up the same topic. I don't know if it was a bad day for idiots but I was shocked by some of the responses that I received back. Like you say it only takes a few seconds to click on the check spelling button. What it does when you don't check spelling is let everyone else know how poor a speller you are.

Maybe if I make it larger people will actually read what I wrote ...
Folks,
Please read what I wrote. Although I mention in passing that general misspelling is troublesome to everyone from simply a communications standpoint, what I was complaining about was the MANY, MANY misspellings of the names of bowling balls that people are interested in!!

Do it up with Brunswick.
How's my grammar? Call 1-800-EBONICS
No,that was not the one that prompted this. What difference does it make which one did it? It has happened so many times, with so many balls, it's ridiculous.

You're just mad because you haven't bought an absoloot infurno yet.

Charlest: A lot of times when I'm typing I fail to edit myself before I hit the post function- but I know there is an edit thread portion to the site and that's why I end up editing a lot of my posts. I feel that my grammar is fairly good, especially considering I went to college for English composition for 4 years, but occasionally the mis-spelled word can get by on the first try.
I am in agreement though- sometimes it's tough to get through posts if you see numerous errors within the first sentences, especially if it's a particular bowling ball we've been talking about for quite a while and there are numerous places to look up the correct spelling right within the reviews on the site.
