Pick 2!!!!

With a new season starting I'm looking buy 2 balls for the season.  Would like to get one pearl and one solid from different brands....So what would you get?

I can give you from the same brand.. kinda.

AMF Green Mamba and Bull Whip
900 Global Sure Thing and Nuts Pearl or Hook Pearl, depending on your amount of oil, rev rate, ball speed, etc etc etc.

I love my Modern Marvel, but it's a hybrid. Strong as a solid though.

I think I would go with a C300 Violent Eruption for a pearl.

Without knowing your style: delivery and release specs AND the amount of oil you bowl on, any guess will be the wildest of speculations.

I'll give the wildest of speculative guesses just based on what looks like the most intriguing releases to me:

Pearl: Columbia Violent Eruption
Solid: Storm IQ Tour

Would they work for you? I have no idea, but I predict that the PBA Ball of the Year will be one of those two balls, for what it's worth.

If you could only pick 2 for league conditions, I would go with the C*(System) Maxxed-Out and the C*(System) Versa-Max. Both of them are solid coverstocks, but take well to polish if you need a little more length especially the Versa-Max with the box finish. If you are looking for a pearl, I would suggest the Marauder with a hybrid coverstock which will give you a little more length than the Maxxed-Out but still have a strong backend reaction.

I take a 3 ball tote with me to league that includes a spare ball.  This year I'm going with a Modern Marvel (hybrid) for nights when the lanes are flooded and a Fire Road (pearl) for medium.  We bowl on a fresh shot so I usually do not need something for dry...usually.

Honestly, if I wasn't bowling tournaments and was only bowling a THS league and was looking to purchase a 1-2 punch arsenal, I would probably buy a Manic and a Fringe.  I would probably take the Manic down to either 1000 or 2000 just to get a little more separation from the Fringe.  Considering the cost, that's a highly effective arsenal for a THS for a cheap sum.

There are no better balls on the market right now than the Track 503T (solid) and the Columbia Violent Eruption (Pearl). I can honestly say they both have the potential to be all time greats. If you only got one though, go with the Violent Eruption as it's the best ball on the market right now.
