Title: Pin Placement Questions?

How dose pin placement work, is it the smaller the pin, eg; 2, the less flare and the larger the pin, eg; 4, the more flare?

in regards to what ? pin to cg before drilling, or pin to pap afterwards?

I heard that longer flares slightly more...but I may be mistaken...
