Pin position preference?

When it comes to oil volume?  According to Mo's dual angle seminar, it says that you use higher angle sums on shorter/lower volumes...

however, I was in league the other day with a 78* 4.5" 68* Fast and I was pretty close to touching the ball return while I had a couple of people on my pair with a C 3.5, Gravity and a Jigsaw that were at least 20 boards right of me.  The only thing I could tell is that they were pin up...Which I thought was preferred for heavy oil.

If it helps, I'm a tweener with an average speed of 17.5 mph and my rev rate is around 360.

Everything is relative and must be taken with a grain of salt.

 Last night, I watched a friend of mine throwing a REIGN standing next to the ball return and covering many boards, just to keep it in the pocket.

 On the opposing team was a guy throwing a Jigsaw Corner drilled to look virtually identical to my friends Reign, but this guy was throwing it STRAIGHT OFF THE CORNER!

 The Jigsw Corner should out hook the Reign by a large margin, but with these two guys using them, that was NOT the case.

Up, on most stuff (in the ring on some).  I'm a low(er) tilt guy so I like pin up stuff for assistance getting downlane.

Good times, I have pretty low tilt myself.  The shop tells me that since I have a 13" track diameter, that I will have little to no tilt.  

The shop does have a used ball(Nomad) that I guess I could try a pin up on(likely 5-5.5" from pap).  I know there is no MB on it, but if history serves me right it's 6 3/4 from the pin I could try putting closer to my thumb or even past it into my track....if that is reasonable.

I use pins both up and down.  I like them to be 4" or farther from PAP which is ring finger area.  Rarely drill anything with the pin right of the center line.  Pins over give more easy length, but also change direction down lane more sharply.  My fav layout right now is pin 5" away and under the fingers which puts it under/left of my middle finger, strong MB and low hole.  Invasion is awesome like this, Pearl Fury very nice.

Ball reaction is all relative, what works for me, may not work for you, and vice versa.  I know what works for me, what I like.  I don''t always suggest that for others, gotta try and design the layout for a particular person/condition/etc.

With higher volumes of oil, pin down, closer to PAP, and a little more surface.  Specially with your good ball speed, 08, you can be a little more aggressive with your drills/surface.

Thanks for all the replies.  I'm going to take all this info and see if I can put something together.  Luckily this season is almost over, guess it's never too late to start prepping for next year!
