Symmetric with angular motion or asym?
« on: September 03, 2016, 08:26:03 PM »
I've finally got what I believe to be a decent step down on 3 balls for the left side this year...
Scandal
GB2
Melee Cross

Now to build from there...

I clearly favor sym balls, but everything is admittedly early and smooth. I need more length and angle as my next ball. I tend to make choices by watching Curlie Becton on video (really tired of seeing the same old thing with 400 RPM bowlers throwing it). Watching Curlie gives me a good idea of what my low rev style will get from a ball.
I am very impressed with how the Warrior Elite looks for him, but I know it's an asym.
Looking for  recommendations, but hopefully sym first, then asym if not....
Thanks in advance

Symmetrical with angle, could be a Motiv Primal Rage, or as a step down, a Drift from 900 Global.

Sky Rocket - Hy-Wire - IQ 30 - DV8 Freakshow - Ridiculous Pearl

When I can throw it, my Sky Rocket gets through the pins better than any ball I've ever throw.

Hy Road Pearl. You'll thank me later. I am also a stroker and the HRP is by far the most angular ball I've ever had.

I second the ridiculous pearl, still very angular but not as prone to the over under .

The Ridiculous pearl is a higher Rg than normal for me, but with a scoop core... Maybe a good choice. One problem though. I have three Radical balls already, and every single one is much weaker than its rating, at least in my hand. However, I just checked and there is a video of Curlie throwing the RP, so maybe I'll take a look.....

Good point. I've watched several of Wayne's efforts in the past and should go take a peek.

also a 50 yr old lefty here. have primarily symmetrical pieces myself.
the new Hammer rebel is a special piece, slightly asymmetrical, but for medium to lower volumes, still predictable which I like.
Also the Swerve FX is another stronger pearl that has those same characteristics I like, doesn't go sideways when it sees friction, more controllable IMO

Rebel - https://youtu.be/A82ixRPWC5I

Swerve FX - https://youtu.be/Ev_HOuAXrpc

and if you haven't seen the new technology in the Swerve line - check it out here

To me, this new technology helps the folks with less Revs, I used to be over 400, these days its still decent in the 350ish range, but I can see the difference going through the pins with this one
