Here's one for you

Hello all. I bowl in a company league from my work where most of the bowlers are avg to below avg. Just a fun league to do after work. What happened to me I would like to share with you. One of my team members had to go away on family matters so we needed to get a sub. I was not involved as most of the people in the league I never see at work. (We have aprox.900 employees)We get a sub who has bowled with us twice before. Anyway, we are bowling this one team who has the high avg bowler for the league.(I'm second- six pins behind) We lose first game but win last two plus totals. As I step on the approach for the 10th frame of the last game this high avg bowler informs me that we forfeited. I said "what are you talking about?" He tells me that with our sub we were one pin over team max. I could not believe what I was hearing. This league pays a whopping $1.25 per point per man and this guy was making a big stink over $4.50. Anyway the president and secretary of the league had a vote and suggested that we go two and two and that what it ended up being. As for next years rules it will basically be anyone can bowl with anybody. What got to me most is this guy had the balls to wait till the very last ball. As it turns out, he is the one who has made a fool of himself.

Actually, no. He didn't. I agree that waiting till the very last ball is a little strange, but waiting till the second ball of the last game is normal. If I were the opposing team captain, I'd wait till the last game too - because that way the opposing team can't get their sub to step out and just take an absentee score.

The way the capped leagues I bowl work - you go over, you forfeit everything.
