With todays lane conditions, types of oils etc. Do you think it would be possible to compete in leagues, tournaments, with 3 piece plastic only? I don't think so, but just wondering what some others think?

I think it would be a possibility, and my three plastic balls of choice are:

On a drier house shot, probably. Unless you have slower ball speed and you have a bunch of revs, you'll never hang with people using resin. On any kind of serious shot or tournament where every pin counts, you wouldn't have a prayer.

It's possible...we have a bowler in one of my leagues who averaged 208 by the end of the year using a Blue Dot! Yup...really hard plastic at that!!

Don't see why not. I use plastic for sport shots.

There's a guy around here that only throws plastic (white dot) and averages 220's consistently. Another kid throws only plastic and urethane and is a 2 teen average.

I use 2 plastic balls because of my revs. One is highly polished drilled for length for absolute toast and a xxxl sanded to 1000 drilled 4 x 4 for medium- light to dry and heavy over/unders. Works well for me, not always the case for everyone else. Anyone in colorado springs knows of steve anderson who averaged 230+ with an axis weighted white dot in three different houses for several years. the guy was a machine!
