I am finally getting an opportunity to bowl the Greater Ozarks this weekend. What shall I expect overall?

A good time!

Both shots (2 different houses) are very playable. I hope you have fresh in singles and doubles. That can get a bit hairy if you don't.

Team house if it's in the same spot as last year has lanes that are a bit older so they hook more...

I like this tournament and will be down there the last weekend of the thing!

Good luck.

Derek, Been a couple years since I've been there but here are my thoughts
We usually are there the last weekend of the tournament, and we do team last shift Saturday afternoon and S/D first shift sunday morning.
Sunshine(team) plays pretty dry,and the approaches are descent.I was the only lefty on my pair, but Wilson Greene Reseland and Stout were all on the lanes before and they didn't reoil the lanes. I got 6 frames in before I had to constantly adjust the rest of the set.I am more comfortable with a little swing, but I had to cover a lot of boards to finish the set. That was an extereme example, the previous two times,it started moving around the third game.
Enterprise(s-d) will be more to your liking, but watch the approaches, they are a little slick for me. I have found a good solid resin or a particle pearl will do decent there, play between 5 and 10 out to 5 and you should do decent.
We'll be at Ozarks the last weekend this year. Been 3 since last time.
You and your crew doing Waterloo this year? We are there 5/2-3 Good luck. Bob

Hey, thanks for the info! Bob, we are bowling the same shifts you will be I think..530pm team Saturday, 830am s/d Sunday. Got asked to fill in a few years now, finally have the money to do it. I have a Supernatural now, so dry lanes won't bother me..lol..and just got a Crux Pearl (wow). Most of the Iowa City bowlers have already bowled, and have heard varying reports. One shot 827 in doubles end of Feb, he's leading this year again, and his partner is I think still leading singles. He said he played about 9 to 5 for singles and doubles, with some speed, and carry was easy that way. I go with my group April 18-19, will give you more then!

It was as you said. Sunshine was alot of slide in the first 30 ft, massive back end last 15 ft. Used my Supernatural playing straight down 8. IQ Tour Pearl was just going really sideways there. Enterprise was slick on the approaches, and I slipped badly, let that get in my head for a bit-452 series in singles - Doubles was better, left 11 splits in those 6 games tho. Used IQ Pearl for most of that set, started 13 out to 5 or so in singles, ended doubles 15 to 5 on the left lane, 18 to 10 on the right lane. Did try to take hand out using the Crux Pearl, but a couple of gutters with turning my shoulders to much ended that. Crux Pearl was way too much at Sunshine, usable at Enterprise. I've been in a big slump, so this was a tough weekend anyways. 584 team 452 singles 597 doubles. Will be back next year!

Tough weekend but being in a slump doesnt help.  Going up the end of this month.  Team at 5pm saturday and sing/dbls at noon sunday.

I'll probably use my Network at Sunshine, when transistion sets in use my Gyro urethane. At Enterprise, the Respect comes out first,if it isn't enough, the Trauma Recovery will come out

Heading up their myself in May. I've bowled that tournament for many years and do well bowling there and seen a little bit of everything at both houses. I was told pattern is 40 ft long in both houses with 25-27 microliters of oil.

Yeah, Sunshine was 25 ml with a 5.42-1 ratio. Enterprise was 27 ml, not sure of ratio but probably similar. Good luck to all of you! Can't wait to do this next year.
