What i would love to see from the mfg's...

Since coverstock is 50-70% the influence in the ball reaction I would like to see a Coefficient of Friction scale for coverstocks.  What is Storms most aggressive coverstock for example may be a 1 and Ebonites most aggressive cover may only be a three in its rating.  That way we/I could compare ball "a" with ball "b" regardless of manufacturer.   Also it would be most beneficial to see how older coverstocks relate to new covers.  We all know what was rated for heavy oil in days gone by is more than likely a medium range ball today.

My thoughts

I'd rather see the Coefficient of Restitution; that's how resilient the ball's surface is. This is how much the pins bounce off the ball's surface. I believe there's alimit in existence, but I don't know how much variation exists inballs now.

If ABC dictated a range they would have no choice.  It had been talked about in the past but has not come about as of yet.
