grip sizes
« on: October 20, 2004, 03:38:27 PM »
Ok guys, i know this will sound extremely stupid, but how do you find out what size (i think its diameter) your grips are if they are lifts? Do you measure from the bottom or the top of the grip, and am i right that it is diameter? Also, there are some numbers inside mine (not sure on the brand, whatever my proshop carries), but i have no idea what they mean! Its just one of those stupid things that i would like to know, any help is appreciated!

Sounds like it.  And if you can read in ball and it is in 64ths then it is a vise!  Other companies in general only go to 1/32 for different sizes!

Vicey!

Note that different brands, with the same stated diameter, actually will fit your same finger(s) differently. You have been warned!

Phirex – 11 is 11/16 and 21 is 21/32. Most will reduce their fractions.

Some also use a system numbering inserts 1 thru 10. A 1 might be 19/32, 2 a 5/8, and so on. But generally if you see a number molded in the grip it is the fractional size.

A Charlest said a ¾ by vise grip is not necessarily the same size as a ¾ with a golden oval.
