Plug and redrill - From a Right handed to Left

Bit of a newbie here, been out of bowling for some time.  Could anyone tell me if there are any signicant draw backs when you plug and redill a ball previously used by a rt hander for use with a left handed bowler? Aside form the obvius difference in the plug/cover material. Friend of mine has a number of Storm balls he says I can have to try out and see which balls I like best for my style.

Thoughts?

Most people try to choose used balls that when plugged won't track over the plugs.  Some of my equipment rolls over the plugs, but doesn't have any noticeable difference.  Switching left to right is usually good because you're generally throwing on a fresh surface.  Whether you believe in oil absorption,  plasticizer migration, or cover brittleness..., buying an opposite hander's equipment is usually a good idea.

I agree with Strider's comments. Your ball driller should try as best as possible to make sure your track will not hit the plugged area. I have 2 balls that were original left drills replugged and redrilled and one righty ball replugged and redrilled for me. The EPP was originally owned by a right hander and it's been my highest scoring ball to date...
