pluto.....
« on: March 16, 2010, 02:28:25 AM »
ok my cousin bought a 12lb pluto for his wife shes just learning how to bowl....problem is when he received the ball it had pin and cg right next each other.... he's not sure if the ball is going to have enough hook at the break point.... with the way the pin and cg are right next to each other...is thier any specific drilling options for this...what i know shes has less than 200 revs, stroker player down and in bowler just playing up the track area....thats all i know about her stats...he bought the ball off ebay did not state it was a blem or second...hes a little upset so thought i come on here and get him some answers with drillings suggestions...thanks for your help

Check with Roto Grip, at 12 lbs the core may be a simple pancake.  --  JohnP

wow never occurred to me but your right they do change the weight blocks with lesser pound balls....hmmm...keep the responses coming... so the cg and pin wont matter were they are located if it has a pancake core.

pin next to cg isn't a blem or a second. It's a first quality ball, with a short pin.

Many lighter weights use a pancake weightblock instead of a real core.

I'm not sure if the Pluto does this or not, but the 12lb rendition does have an extremely high rg, and a very low differential
2.67  and .017   So even with a pin far from cg, it's not going to have much based on the core.

What's the top weight? With a low top there's a good chance it's still simple enough to drill strong, it will just require alittle work.

you got a pin in ball and i just got an amf mega recovery pin in also off ebay. You are limited in the drillings but for what she needs it wont really matter much. My ball rolls and hits fine. The drill i used was pin up over ring and right a bit. I did have to have an odd weight hole right over the bridge, but its legal and a very solid performer.
