polished reactive more aggressive than dull particle??
« on: October 03, 2003, 09:35:46 AM »
My friday night league has changed the shot over the last few weeks.  I know this for fact since I also work in this center.  Anywho, I can't seem to throw a extremely shiny reactive, a werewolf drilled 5x1, polished to 5000.  It hits the dry and hockey sticks.  On the other hand, I am scoring with a 1000 grit HPD, playing further outside than with the reactive ball.  It is really weird that I have to take some many revs off the werewolf to get the ball to the pocket.

I haven't been able to figure out why this is going on.  On my tuesday league it is normal, dull particle hooking early and hard and reactive getting down the lane before turning.

The lane surface is extremely different, wood vs. synthetic.  The HS's are quite different too.  The wood lanes are considerable drier then the synthetics.

Has anyone else ever seen a more aggressive reaction from their reactive than particle???

All the time in my home center. There just isn't enough oil in the heads to get even a light load particle through with anything left. Icon2, Raging Inferno, even a sanded reactive Inferno burns up with little left. All my polished reactives (except the new Spirit II) get through the heads clean and have strong mids and/or back (where depends on the ball). Without sufficient oil in the heads, particle stuff is going to look pretty tame.
