Poll...Barnes with a New Company
« on: September 20, 2004, 05:32:38 PM »
So, unofficial word is Chris Barnes is no longer going to throw Brunswick, and will now throw Columbia.  Let's say Chris finally has the break out, player of the year, year that most of us feel he can have.  How many of you will say it's the equipment, and how many will say he finally got over the hump, mental or otherwise?

I'm willing to go on record that I think Chris will have a break out year which will lead him to HoF, and that it will have nothing to do with what ball he throws.

What's your opinion and why?

I am a huge fan of Chris Barnes and I think if he switches equipment it won't matter that much. He is a fabouls bowler and I took some of his game and took it to my game and he has helped a big big difference. He will be fine he just needs to work a little on a mental problems when he is up there....but he seems awsome when he is up there. I think a equipment change would suit him best cause then we can see what matches up best for him and in the future.

Yeah, I think Hose dates her just to get in good with Chris.

I'd love to see the Bully and the Detour in Chris' hands. As for the equipment change, it'll give him a fresh look and should be good for his game. All top pros know how to adjust to new equipment. Nice to see a big name sign with C300.

Finally, he's moved.  Good for him.  I'm personally think that Big B was not suit his style after all.   Both he and Brunswick's balls are not bad but they're not compliment each other style.   As for choke, only he knew.  Wish him to have a best year with columbia.

If everyone will look at his "profile", you will be able to tell it is not him.

Brunswick stuff has a habit of setting a little too much, and starting a little early, and that seems to give him carry problems with all those revs and the forward roll.  HOWEVER, the big thing that people have failed to mention is Rick Benoit.  You remember Chris thanking Rick every single show for getting him there?  Rick goes with Brunswick, although he and Chris are pretty good friends.  Think Rick's gonna be coaching him much anymore?  That's anyone's guess.

BTW, I don't know if Rick is still in town (he was still here last Thursday coaching Steelsmith) but if I see him, I'll ask and get the "official" word, or at least put a rest to the rumors with some facts.

What profile would that be?  Looks blank to me...

It'll be interesting to see which of the new balls becomes Barnes' favorite on the various patterns the PBA sees.  My guess is we'll be seeing the Detour, but I suck, so what do I know...

Quite frankly, I find it hard to believe that Brunswick would let Barnes go.

Well, they also dropped WRW, Steve Jaros, Mike Aulby (not sure about that one though)  I think once you get in to the top 15 guys, one ball company figures if they drop one they will just pick up another since they are always a threat to make a show and win.

At one point this morning, the profile read "No longer with Bruswick."

Yes, Brunswick was misspelled in the profile.

Well both Brunswick's website and the PBA website still have him on Brunswick's pro staff.  Hmmmm.
