Title: poll: best control/first out of bag ball
Post by: stanski on March 29, 2004, 09:39:35 PM
What do you guys think would be the best control ball on a regular/ medium oil house condition for your style of bowling (please include) along with the drill pattern? my vote would be a command zone arc drilled with a 310* drilling.

I like my Red Pulse or Threat with the mass bias on
my vertical axis line.  Surface - sanded smooth but
no polish.

Pro Purple Buzzsaw, 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 layout, with a light polish to help it get down the lane.

For a medium condition, I like the Smash/R.

I'm a fan of the Element for control. Pin under ring, cg slightly kicked. A good roll/arc drill to an otherwise flippy ball.  Gives a nice combo of power and control. IF I COULD do it over again, I would drill it lable and get that flip, o btw I don't like control

x-factor -- drilled pin over ring, cg in palm, RAD right of thumb about 1/2 inch.

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

Uranium, hands down. 2 1/2" pin, 1:30 drilling with no side weight and 2.5 oz of top weight and 3/4oz finger.

stanski -- I always start with my Black Hammer, drilled with the cg at the gc.  I find the line, then I know exactly how many boards to move on the approach to use my other equipment.  --  JohnP

My Unleashed of course!  I have it highly polished because the box condition was too much hook.

First Ball out of my bag is the Blueberry BUzzsaw. The ball is drilled about 4-1/2 x 4. Ball has a long pin sothe pin is above and right of the ring a hair and the cg at 1o to hte thumbhole almost at the thumbhole. FInish is box, small weighthole in the thumb quadrant.

If I know the house to have good backends I'll pull out my 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 Uranium with the pin above the bridge.

If you had asked me this question about 2 years ago however, the answer would have been the original Eraser wihtout question. I had one 4-1/4 stacked and it was awesome.

The Element use to be the first out of the bag, now it's the Anomaly. I can't seem to put my Anomaly away, I think my Element feels left out .

I am only going to list my favorite of all time for this category:

C300 Blue AfterShock---drilled with the PIN 4in. from PAP and the MB kicked out about half of an inch from the grip center.

AWESOME ball for its time. Sure wish I had my old one back
