Would you quit bowling if next season you had to bowl 10% better to maintain the same average?


No- I would not quit if I had to bowl 10% better to maintain my 220+ average.

No I wouldn't quit. It's been 13 years since I've improved my average by 10% from one year to the next. I still love the sport as much now as I did then, even though my average goes up and down depending on the house I'm in.

Yes. Expecting more varied lane conditions in league, I need to get bowl ten per cent better than last season.

Not only would I continue to bowl, but I would embrace the challenge.  Also, b/c it would be fun to see some "hot shots" struggle their butts off.

Let's see,...,I'm bowling in a league this summer (and loving it) where I'd have to work well over 10% harder to average deuce  - probably more like 50% (if it could be measured), so the answer must be NO I wouldn't quit.

10% is quite a bit. I dont see myself averaging 265 next season.

I wouldn't quit. I'd like to see us bowl 10% LOWER when we bowl well, as in toughen the shot up.

Rev-o-lutions, You misunderstood the question.  Your average would stay the same, but you would be working 10% harder to make it happen.

Bob made a good point, as long as everybody else has to work harder to maintain their average.  There's nothing worse than working your arse off to average what you did last year when half the league can spray the ball all over and score at will.

I think with lanes transitioning as fast as they do now, it's already been a 10% effort to maintain avg.  As conditions tend to vary a little more like Jensm stated, it's going to take even more effort to maintain but that's the fun of it, the challenge.
