Selecting a bowling ball
« on: January 26, 2010, 04:24:37 PM »
I have just started back bowling this season and have joined two leagues. I have a 12lb bash bowling ball and I am now looking to purchase another.  I wanted a ball (12lb or 13lb?) which was long on the lane and hooked on the back-end.  Someone suggested to me to purchase the Hammer Black Onyx; but it seems everything that I read about that ball suggest that it works best on light oil and the house that I bowl in the oil is usually mid to heavy.  The speed on my ball is medium.  Right now I'm averaging 155. Any suggestions would be helpful

The Columbia Freeze is a great ball for the price, much stronger than you would expect an entry-level reactive resin ball to be, and has good back end reaction.  Go with the heaviest weight you can comfortably handle.  -  JohnP
