I second dizzy's excellent advice:-
"As a suggestion: check if you bend your upper body forward during the release, compensating for the lack of knee bend. You should keep your body upright, lowering everything down through the knee bend. The position of your body CG is important here - if it is too far forward, you will rather bend over than slide, and also use the trailing leg somewhere in the air, windmilling, to keep balance up.
It can also be that you start your stance with straight legs and simply do not get the initial flexing reflex right, so that you keep the knee straight all the time.
As a tip: try shifting your body CG backwards, and start with your knees already flexed - as if you were about to sit down. It feels awkward, and you need some muscle in your legs, but this has helped me getting my overall body posture into better shape, creating a true slide, knee bend and more leverage at the release point. Not certain if this anything that helps you with your trouble, but maybe it's a point to check."
To add some slant of my own, try "locking" yourself in that release position until the ball has rolled over your mark. This helps to stop you from wobbling around on the line and will help give you a consistent release, greater accuracy and that leverage on your release.
