Logging ON & OFF on This Site
« on: January 15, 2004, 09:01:55 PM »
I am having a problem in that I have to log on every time I go to this BR site. Have never had this problem before. It just started last night. I have sent 2 Emails to this site and have received no response.

Is anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions? Following is what I sent to the web master:
-------------------------------------------------------------
I Emailed the following to you last night and have gotten no response or acknowledgment of receipt. Would you please look at the problem

Brickguy221            (I sent this this morning)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This just started tonight-------Every time I get off this site, I have to log back in when I get back on, whereas I never logged out to begin with.

Prior to now, I would remain logged in day after day, week after week, etc., until I clicked on the "Log Off."

What is causing this problem? Can you fix the problem?

                              (I sent this last night)

Did you change any of your browser settings on allowing cookies?

This site loads a cookie on your machine that keeps track of you being logged on and other stats.

Also did you load any new anti-virus software or firewalls. Some of them can block cookies as well.

You might have dumped your cookies, or disabled your cookies.

How does a person get any response from the website master/owner to get this problem fixed. I never previously had a problem getting a problem fixed when something like this arose. With the previous owner I always got a response and problems fixed within 2-3 minutes of the time I Emailed them to the address listed on this site. I have sent the curremt owner 2 Emails and have received no response at all.

channel surfer or anyone else that knows something about computers as I don't,

I know zilch about computers.
 1. First, what in the heck are cookies?
 2. How do you dump your cookies?
 3. How do you disable your cookies?
 4. How do I get the cookies back in the bag....lol....In reality, how do I fix this thing?

Thanks,

JIM

Hooooo Rahhhh,

My wife fixed my problem. Some how the security got knocked off. She reset the security and it started working right. She deleted or did something to the cookies too, but I don't know what it was because as I previously said, I know zilch about computers.

I ordered some merchandise "on line" last night, could that somehow created the problem? I'm almost sure it was a secure site. Could that have caused the problem?

Sounds to me your wife is trying to drop a hint (by sabotaging your cookies) that you're on here too much.

...LOL at 9andaWiggle. 9, you may have a point there as I am almost 67 and those cookies are about all there is left to sabotage.
