Title: Posting ball reviews
Post by: skizzle on February 01, 2017, 06:59:08 PM
I know everyone has probably mentioned this, but I would find it refreshing to read ball reviews that actually had some thought put into them.  I get it that the staff members have to write reviews, but just waiting to read one that says "while this ball may be good for some, there are other balls by Company X that are better."

Just wish there were more objective reviews out there.  Okay rant over blast away!

I can vouch for that. They seem, in my eyes, to range from plain good to very good.
And they have quite a few of them; they seem to invest time and effort. A true, useful review is costly in those 2 areas.

Tamer Bowling has A1 reviews. My go to when I'm considering buying a bowling ball.  8)

Agreed. I liked old bowlersmart videos, but now they have some super cranker testing stuff. The bowlingball.com guys and bowlersdeals guys test on a house shot, Britton (videoballreviews) doesn't do videos anymore except for TJ trout throwing Storm, and I can't get into lanesidereviews.

Tamer, you're pretty much the measuring stick now.

I second (fifth?) Tamer! Keep them coming!

I think the reviews should be split between reps and regular bowlers. Would like to see more comparisons between the new ball and the one being replaced.

I checked out the Tamer site for the first time after seeing this thread. Very well put together reviews. I will definately be checking it out again before future purchaces. Great job Tamer.

Tamer's a lefty, which helps guys like me. It's not all lefty obviously, but at least some, and that's good news. I'm getting more on board with his content, and he definitely puts significant time into it, that's for sure.

I'd add a vote that it's right up there...

I'm already on a site that is called BallReviews, so I'm not following yet another link to a different site.

I'll gladly read your reviews, if they are posted here.

TamerBowling and Lane Side Reviews are at the top for me. I will watch any reviews put out by them. Good video, excellent commentary, and enough content to make it all worth the time.

Agreed. I especially like Lane Side Reviews because they have an entertaining edge to them. How can you not like anything put together by two guys name "The Beast" and "Scoops"?  :)

That's very kind of you sir.  Thanks all for the positive feedback.  If only there was real money in bowling, we would be golden! :-)
We continue to review independently.  We try as much as possible to get multiple reviewers to give you something to match your game to.  It would be great to have more opportunity to do more sport shot videos but the truth is the process is extremely time-consuming and everyone has a day job.  So we have to put out a video at the minimum with a typical house shot so that it is at least consistent with what the vast majority of bowlers see.

I have to also give a shout out to my pro shop partner, Greg Bickta and Perfect Aim Pro Shop.  He works really hard to drill the equipment so we get the videos out as early as possible.  If you're in the Reading PA area, check his shop out...

As long as those house shots are at Limerick, it works for me.

And Greg is a good guy.  Got two Forza GTs and a Trident from him when he hosted a Test drive there at New Hiester lanes.

I am new in the bowling ball review business, but I'm always trying to provide the best review possible based on what I see on the lanes. I try to keep this YouTube channel uploaded constantly and my reviews are unbiased since I am not a staffer with any company.

I am always trying to improve what I do and I know I still have a long way to go, but I like to think that this thing I'm doing is helping some fellow bowlers out there.

Angel,

You're better at it so far than some "seasoned veterans" in the video ball review arena.

They should change the name of this site from ballreviews to stafferreviews.

Huge fan of both you guys, I'm trying to get back into bowling for my son and both your youtube pages have been very insightful.

Although it would be cool to see a few head to head comparison videos.  Compare a few balls and tell us your preference.  Keep up the good work though
