Powders and Grip Sacks
« on: May 05, 2009, 04:23:56 PM »
Who uses these types of things?  Which do you use and why?  I've been thinking about using Hand Conditioner as a happy medium between rosin and EZ Slide.

As a side note, I was wondering if Grip Sacks affect your grip like the "puff" balls or do they just absorb moisture/sweat?  Or are there both kinds?

I generally use a hand moisturizer before I go what this does for me is soften up the skin so it isnt as prone to getting all torn up.

I frequently use a rosin bag for finger tips and finger holes, and since replacements are expensive I started re-filling it with baby powder from the pharmacy. Great stuff to keep the fingers dry, even smells good.

Besides, I make sure to use no moisturizer before, even hold my drinking glass in the non-bowling hand.

I use a grip sack to keep my hand dry and give a little extra friction for hand on ball.

I use a Master puff ball to absorb the moisture from my hands.

Several years ago I used rosin. Didn't really like the way it gets kinda sticky as the night goes on. This guy we were bowling one night offered to let me try what he had. It is a Bison Ball, which is rock climbing chalk. This stuff is great. Gives plenty of grip. Doesn't get sticky or leave residue in the ball. I'll never use anything else. And, it lasts a long time. The one in my bag now is going into its third summer and isn't any where close to being used up.
