Strongest/ best ball for floods

What ball is the best super oiler for heavy conditions??
I'm thinking AMF Mega Friction or Visionary Particle Blue Centaur
I currently have a Rico drilled (5 1/2 pin to pap) Brunswick Mammoth at 200 grit...
It hooks but isnt the snow tire I thought it would be.. maybe the long pin to pap has alot to do with it..
how does the Mammoth compare to the MF and Visionary Particle??

How do the MF and Visionary Particle compare..??

Any other choices??

The RICO drilling gets the ball (any ball) into a smooth, early roll. If you expect such a ball to hook a lot, you are wrong. It rolls, which is an effective oil ball setup, though. Watch your Mammoth as it enters the pins. If it rolls forward and puts some pressure on the pin decks, everything is fine.

It could be, though, that you have too much surface or coverstock strength at hand for your needs, so the ball runs dead. With the early roll setup as RICO is, this is an imminent "danger".

The ball works well .. hooks, rolls, and carries great.. OOB I could use it on a variety of conditions...
bowled on a heavier oil and it didn't cut through the oil like I thought it would.. even with the low grit surface..

please explain your difference between roll and hook alot..
are you saying "roll" is a more tighter straight line??

Yes, exactly. The charm of the Rico drilling is its arcing, rolling move, which not only enhances control on oily shots but helps the ball complete its skid/hook/roll pattern early, and it has been developd AFAIK for high revs players to prevent over-reactions.

Rico is a VERY early setup, its mild hook is distributed throughout the lane (so it does not look spectacular unless you really do a lot of revs and side rotation to force ball movement). And since the ball wants to roll so early, you will hardly see a back end move - I'd expect a mild but steady curve with only a few boards covered. I think the result will be the same with any oil ball you might try.

The benefit truly is its roll and stable curve. It sounds as if your Mammoth just delivers this, and if you have carry issues I suppose it is a surface "problem".

how many games have you thrown with your mammoth ? high load particle balls like the mammoth are like sponges as they soak up lane oil. if you've got over 25 games i'd suggest finding a pro shop with a rejuvenator or a revivor to have the absorbed lane oil removed. 200 grit(?)may be too dull for your rev rate-----the ball may be burning up too much energy. try a 360 or 500 grit abralon pad.

not many games.. maybe 6 or 7.. if that..
it wasn't rolling out from what I saw.. it was just skidding
I will try a higher grit and see what it does..

so from what I am getting from everyone... my rico'd mammoth should be perfect for heavy oil conditions??

I dont know what ball currently is best for a flooded condition but I will tell you that I had a Mammoth also, and it was not the heavy oil ball that I was expecting either.

better than the AMB Particle ???  
I have the Mammoth .. am I going to see a significant / better result from anything else.. ??
Maybe I am expecting too much on heavy oil....
