What does drilling 3X5, 4X6, etc. mean?
« on: November 09, 2006, 06:52:30 AM »
I've been looking everywhere for the answer.  I can't even type it into google correctly without getting something unrelated as an answer.  When people say they got their ball drilled 3x5, 4x6, etc. what does that mean?  Don't call me stupid please.

The first measurement is distance from your PAP to the pin.  The second measurement is usually the distance from your PAP to your CG, although with asymetrical balls, some people use the second measurement for distance from your PAP to the MB.  When they are equal, e.g. 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" it is usually referred to as stacked.

It is the pin by cg distance from the pap

ie

a 3x5 is where the pin is 3" from the pap, and the cg is 5" from
the pap.

Its referring the Pin and Cg to PAP ( Positive axis Point ) distance.
so when they say 3x5 the "3" is 3 inches away from PAP and "5" the cg is 5 inches away from axis point.
