I agree with a number of posters who nominated The Freeze. I also have a Nail Titanium which is mid-priced and is very effective on most house patterns.

wow, everyone.. just wow. :)

The ball with the best bang for the buck was the Faball Blue Hammer.

The ball with the best bang for the buck is the Faball Blue Hammer.

I've had that ball for 25 years, and it still hits like a truck, whether the lanes are caked in oil, or if I'm throwing it in the dirt. It is one of a list of very few balls (you could count that list on one hand) that has survived nearly every condition from 1988 to today; it's a no-brainer that people are still looking to buy that ball whenever one comes up on Ebay, especially if NIB.

For me it was the Columbia 300 Beast. Bought mine in the late 90's and still like to roll it. I don't nearly as much these days because it fits the same slot as my ALF, but I can get away with using it on less oil so I polished it up and let her roll sometimes.

I'm looking at getting one of the new DV8 Misfits though, so who knows things may change.
