Powerlift grips, or ovals?
« on: October 26, 2018, 10:21:08 PM »
What grips are you guys using? I use clear vise powerlifts. Was thinking of changing to ovals because I’m getting some burn on my finger tips and a black irritation on the tip of my thumbnail. I’m thinking the powerlifts may be giving me to much forward pitch in the fingers and also making my span longer causing the irritation. Does this make sense to any of you experts. Do you think changing to ovals will help? Any thoughts, suggestions would be appreciated.

If your tips are getting black, you better make a change and soon!
Going to ovals is easy but I doubt if it will be enough.

Going from ovals to power lifts (the other way) would ordinarily never make your tips turn black; so your span is probably too long, no matter what inserts you use.

I recently went from Vise Clear grips to Ultimate Sticky grips from Buddies and the Ultimates are far better than the Vise IMO. As far as Powers/Ovals, its personal preference. I like the ovals for when i dont want to hit up on ball. If i have a ball that i want to hit and move inside with, ill use the Powers.

Please read and listen to what charlest says, it is more than a change of grip styles needed.

Something appears to be wrong with your pitches or spans. You need them checking.

Power ovals. Perfect mix of the two. Power lifts mess with my middle finger, and ovals blow.

Seriously, try em!

This makes no sense, you shouldnt be hitting up on the ball no matter where youre playing on the lane.
