Weakest reactive with a real core
« on: November 30, 2014, 10:52:47 AM »
Scream is my current weakest reactive, but still snaps too much. I threw some polish on it for length, but not real happy for me.

Anything under this with a real core to fit between a Cyclone and urethane? (I do have a Blue Hammer Urethane to drill up)

C300 blur, Motiv Ascent (not the Ascent Apex), Storm Tropical Storm etc

The Tropical Breeze is the weakest ball currently available from any manufacturer. Its core has less differential than the pancake core, but it is a real dynamic core.

It is weaker than the Motiv Ascent Pearl, the Roto-Grip Scream and the Brunswick Strike King. The Blurs, Boosts, Cyclones and Freezes are a full notch stronger than the above balls.

That said, Ebay has had some older balls, Like the Brunswick Slingshot and many older balls that are weaker still.

You can also look for Brunswick power grooves and morich sahara both have asymmetric cores. No matter the core or the weakest of reactive coverstocks they will react to friction. The idea of staying right and balling down not to move off the same line isn't likely with just a ball change. It will likely need a release change as well.

Also surface and layout will be the other factors. The higher the surface/polish the faster the reaction to friction.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

Yeah if anything I'd take the Scream to 3k or 4k, polish is just going to make it snappier unless you go with Finesse-IT or a super extender, and that's really just going to make it inconsistent.  Question though, why do you want something that hooks less but has a more dynamic core?  Is it for control?  A more dynamic core with that weak of a cover also sounds like an over/under nightmare.
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

I read your signature and I'd say it's your ultra low tilt and 66* axis rotation that are killing you.  I realize it's very hard for most bowlers to change their tilt spec. but that's where I would look at and it might relate back to ball fit.  That's my thought.

The Misfit pearl is pretty weak. And bright yellow.

If you can find one, get a 900 Global Desert Hook. Very smooth, not at all snappy.

Although it is another retired ball.  I have a hammer razor, that is the weakest thing I own.  Pancake weightblock

Careful with the Razyr; it was kind of an all-or-nothing type of ball. Basically, Hammer put a very aggressive reactive shell on a pancake block. I had one during my two-handed bowling days, and the ball was as strong or stronger off of the friction than anything I had in the bag at that time; however, when I threw it one-handed, it was sixty feet of skid. A friend of mine has a ton of revs, and that ball was very sharp off of friction for him too. So, if you are a medium to lower rev player, the Razyr could be okay for big-time burn. If you have a lot of hand, I think you'd find it way too strong down the lane.
