« on: August 18, 2005, 10:52:38 AM »
I just ordered one from buddies today. Are they fairly sturdy on carpet?

I'd prefer my 150 lb one I made myself out of wood as old as the weight I reckon.

That's really nice, Kingpin... do you make furniture for a living?

I have the Ebonite ball rack and also used a power screwdriver.  My daughter and I assembled it in about 15 minutes flat and since she helped me, the bottom shelf is hers

Hah, I built mine out of spare wood laying around, so it's not nearly as professional looking as kingpins.  But it's sturdy enough to hold 10 balls.

Do yourself a favor...get a small drill bit and predrill all the holes and then you'll not have to worry about splitting the wood and the screws will go in much easier.

Wow an entire closet for bowling balls only. That's awesome!  I need to do that.

My dad's a contractor so he helped me lay it out and pointed me in the right direction. Having the right tools is a must so I'm thankful for him having them. Stole the layout partially from Agroves just tweaked it a bit. Weighs a ton though.lol. Need to get some wheels.

i've built several using 1x6 for the  end pieces and 1x3's for the side rails. A couple of them are about 10 years old now without any problems
