I consider this to be almost a bigger accomplishment than shooting 300 nowadays. Not only do you have to make 10 spares, you can't strike, and with the balls today as strong as they are, that's tough to do.

He was really happy about it, too, which I'm glad to see. A lot of people would have been ticked about not striking and not appreciated the accomplishment.

I blew one of these five years ago by missing an easy spare in the 10th. That haunts me more than my 296.

I would like to know the ratio to 300 to those. Its like a dutch 200 I shot one last year and know one could figure out why I was exited those score and accompaniments are hard to do.
