Pre Shot Routine
« on: January 21, 2004, 05:21:49 PM »
I come from the golfing world were i a pre-shot routine is as valuable as a good golf swing is. I have been working on getting a good preshot routine in bowling because i think it has helped me out getting settled and ready to make a shot and i notice when i don't go threw my routine i usually screw up. does anyone else use a preshot routine and if so what do you do.

mine is find the spot, tell myself to make a nice full shot and trust the ball. then i take a deep breathe to calm myself, set me feet and then go. if you have any suggestions please feel free to advise me.

I add a "wipe the ball off as I pick it up off the rack", if you don't already do that before you start the self-talk and lining-up of feet, body and target.

1. Pick up ball
2. Wipe ball off and put towel on top of scoring monitors.
3. Get feet set
4. Put fingers and thumb in ball
5. Get set
6. Take a deep breath
7. Go
