Cyclone vs. Slingshot

Would the cyclone be stronger than a slingshot, I am looking for a ball that would be stronger than the slingshot for my 8 year old daughter.I was thinking about a tropical heat hybrid, but was told the cyclone would be stronger.

The Tropical Heat Hybrid or the Cyclone would both be a good bit stronger than the Slingshot.


Little known fact:  In Russian "Hope" and "Change" translate to "Tax" and "Spend"

FWIW, I agree.
Cyclone and Trop Heat Hybrid are for medium-light to true medium oil.
Slingshot is is for the driest light oil on which a resin ball can be used up to maybe medium-light oil, depending on drilling (and surface). I use the Slingshot up to just before I need a urethane, with a slight overlap. with urethane being Avalanche U or Seismic Desperado..

The Cyclone or Tropical Heat hybrid are definitely better choices as she would have a wider range of conditions to work with.  I would also suggest the Rising Star from Roto Grip as it will work on medium to light conditions.  That ball is similar to the Tropical Heat hybrid but seems to be more continual on the lane instead of being a little more angular.

People, read the entire post. It's for an 8 year old girl.
 
She needs a light plastic ball and to be coached the basic fundamentals. Let her grow in to a resin ball in a couple of years and when she can throw one with enough speed to take advantage of a stronger shelled ball.

From the text I assumed she was already bowling with a resin ball, like the Slingshot, and her father wanted an upgrade for her, but, you're right, one shouldn't assume. If she is just starting out, a plastic ball and instructions are a first priority.

 Thanks for all of the replies, she has been bowling for 2 1/2 years now and  ended the season with 108 avg . She struggled in the begining of the year but averaged over 120 the last 3 months. She uses a slingshot for her first ball and a plastic for some of her spares. She throws a pretty good hook for a 8 yr old girl and her speed is close to 11mph. I am just looking for something a little stronger for her to use in some tournaments. She is throwing a 10 lb ball now.

Then the Tropical Heats, the Cyclones and the Karmas should all be a step up from the Slingshot.
 
BUT
 
depending on the weight block in the weight she uses, there could be a large difference between them and the Slingshot or not very much at all.  The PK 17 in the Slingshot is not a weak coverstock. The core makes the ball weak.
