Price check!!!!!!!!! Pro shop guys
« on: November 10, 2009, 01:32:13 AM »
I am just curious as to what everyone has got for prices beginning with plastic balls right up to high end balls. What are you selling a lot of a order and what kind of promotions do you run in order to boost sales. I'd like to boost my sales a bit and need a bit of advice.Thanks.

Plastic - $69
Entry Level - $104
Mid Level - $129 - $149
Super Mid Level - $159 - $169
High End - $189
Top High End - $219

I usually run a ball of the month on a top high end ball. Promotion will put the ball at $200. Last month ball was Virtual Energy and we went through alot of them!
I also have a huge youth and high school customer base and will run some programs for them.
I offer free ball cleaning, etc on high end balls purchased through shop.

I've seen some high-end balls go for $245 drilled.  I think that's a lot.

I paid that for a Lane#1 bal labout 3 or 4 years ago.  Worst ball I ever had.  They are very pricey for not a great product in my opinion.

KRAKKEN, dont let one bad ball make your mind up about one particular company, it could have just been the wrong ball for you, wrong drilling etc... If i made my mind up like that id have to start my own ball company because ive had duds from just about every company out there!

The high end ball at that price is not very hard to find. In smaller areas that don't sell a lot they won't get that big of deals for lower prices.

As far as the Lane #1 ball that you got I agree with other posters. It might have been just a bad match up. I am not defending Lane #1 at all. I am just saying what others have said time and time again. Every ball every company are not for everyone. Some people will or won't match up with a company or a ball. I don't care if it's Lane #1, Brunswick, Storm, etc.

stopncrank only stated what is said about any company, and that is one bad ball or experience doesn't mean the company is bad or makes horrible bowling balls.

In most cases if the product cost more then others and doesn't do wonders for that person they will probably never try that product again. Especially for people that don't buy that many bowling balls.

High end balls are typically in the 240-250+ range around here.  It's rare that a ball is less than $200 after taxes, unless it's close to entry level.
