Want to learn how to drill
« on: November 05, 2006, 10:00:09 AM »
Alright guys,
Since I began bowling I've always been intrigued by the art of drilling.  Well, I still am and want to learn.  There are no real proshops around our area for me to start out in so I was wondering what type of clinics or classes you all would recommend for me.  My house is in real need of a competent person to run the "proshop".  I know it's hard work but I really want to do it.  Hope you can help.

Thanks guys,
I am really considering the Powerhouse Clinic.  I was also looking into getting the drilling and fitting guide by Bill Taylor.  I really want to do this, and do it right.  Thanks again

jls - I've worked in a proshop over 15 years. I've seen it far too often.

What experience do you have?

Sure sizes vary slightly from warm to cold weather, humid to dry, bowlers gain lose weight. That is why you use tape. If you get bigger make the hole bigger and tape it when needed.

But that doesn't make spans 1/2" too long and pitches off so bad the sides of thumbs look like hamburger.

Me I've got a good job and don't have to deal with customers like you anymore.
