ball reaction question
« on: November 20, 2004, 09:49:17 AM »
i have a quick question for anyone who knows about how a weight block affects a balls reaction. if you take the core from a ball and add a flip block to the top of it how would it react differently from the same core with the flip on the bottom of the core? this is assuming that the rg and differentials stay the same and that each ball is thrown by the same bowler on identical lane conditions? would one ball would tend to have a sharper reaction at the breakpoint or would they be the same?

I am not sure on this but I believe that with the flip block on bottom the ball will be sharper later, I am not sure because the RG and diff are always different when a company does a ball with an inverted core.
The reason I say this is because when on top more than likely you will remove some of the flip block when you drill the ball which will make the block weaker. Makes sense to me anyway.
top = lower RG/higher diff
bottom = higher RG/lower diff
