what does it mean when a ball is pro pin

It usually means that it has a pin five inches or more in length.  It's also referred to as a "long pin" or some will even classify it as a "blem".  The bowling ball companies have varying standards as to what classifies a pro pin.

Maybe the Storm staffers/experts can chime in if I'm wrong.  They've got a special section on their website devoted to those types of pins.

I had a DynoThane Element Au79 with a pin just over five inches.  Drilled it with the pin over the bridge, welll over the bridge, of course.  Was a smoooth rolling son-of-a-gun until around 50 feet and then made a very pronounced and predictable move to the hole.

I had a Razor Wire, pro pin, 5.75". Had a heck of a weight hole, but on the right conditions, that ball was gold.
