Pro shop clinic video!
« on: July 06, 2013, 12:13:57 AM »
These are a couple videos covering the first section of my clinic, and it's on fit.  After several takes and adjustments, I've found it necessary to split my video into two parts.  One, because I can't upload videos any longer than 15 minutes to youtube, and two it can get pretty heavy to sit and listen to something for a while.

In the first video, I read my opening statement and read the written text, doing some demonstrations and gestures along the way for clarification.  In my second video I'll expand a little bit, I've got a story to tell, and I also wanted to read the closing statement of the entire clinic because it's something I consider pretty important, something that could help foster better communication between you and your pro shop.  I'll post the links to both videos here, the first video on top, and the second video on the bottom.  Again, I'll take any and all feedback.  Thanks for watching, I REALLY appreciate it.  If you could like, favorite, share, subscribe, I've got even more ideas for videos now and should be putting them out fairly regularly.

NOTE - I've got a really short part 3 to add, I showed you my fit, but I wanted to show you my hands too, that's something I feel that is really important that proves my point about fit.  I've had hundreds of cases of people where I've adjusted their fit and their thumbs had shrunk, their callouses went away, numbness went away, discoloration disappeared, and pain or stress went away.  Saying it is one thing, but showing results is another.  I bowl a fair amount, and if you can see obvious differences in how your bowling hand looks and how your non bowling hand looks, you might be interested or surprised to see what my hands look like in comparison to each other.

Thanks again for watching, I really appreciate it!

Man, you are doing the major sin of speaking only worse.  The ONE thing that audiences can't stand is when somebody reads verbatim from the screen that the audience can read for themselves.  You make it worse because the audience can't even see what you're reading from!  When you start demonstrating with your hands, it becomes interesting.  You know this stuff, you need to relate it to people.  Droning on and on like you do in the beginning is just horrible, and you're looking down while reading the script.  Throw the script away, have an outline of what you want to talk about in the wall in front of you and fill in the outline with your words to the audience.
Long Gone also posts the honest truth which is why i respect him. He posts these things knowing some may not like it.

You're absolutely right, I thought the same while watching.  I feel like everything in the "script" is important, but sitting and listening to somebody read off a page for 10 minutes?  Part of it was time constraints, I should have just slowed down and made it 2 or 3 properly done parts.  But I get what you're saying, instead of reading a script and hitting points while going through, just reverse it, right?  Set points, and cover the information while demonstrating each point?  I probably don't need all those words if I've got good enough illustrations and demonstration.  I've never spoken or presented anything before, so this is new territory for me.  Yeah, I do know the information, and I can explain what I'm doing to people while I'm fitting them, and I suppose I should have taken that approach in the first place.  Thanks a ton for the feedback and the critique, really appreciate it.

In 10+ years here, one of the first videos of its type.  People can bag if they want about reading, but ifs a good way to clearly explain and ensure all topics are covered.  I though it was easy to follow, clearly explained, and quite useful.  Thanks for the effort/time.

Thanks!  Lol and I got lost in how "bad" the video was with LGD that I forgot the point I was trying to make.  Yeah the video isn't going to be production quality stuff, and I had to use extra words to make up for the lack of all the illustrations and demonstration I'm going to have, but I was hoping the content was there.  That's what I was after, but good suggestions all around, because even though I'm after content evaluation more than anything, I can still make the trial videos better!
