Another Vid - 86 King Louie

One of my favorite title matches of all time. Even the big guys get tight and squeeze it once in a while. Just the "highlights". Enjoy.

This is the best finish of any tournament I've ever seen.  I remember when I was 17 in a big Youth tournament, the second match in the stepladder before the finals a kid makes the 7-10 in the tenth and strikes for force the kid to mark and get 9 on his last ball to win by one.  The kid gets up, leaves the Greek Church......makes it, leaves a nice wrap 10 to advance by 1pin.  I wish I had that on tape.  The 7-10 and Greek Church made in 1 match.

Wow...  WRW Jr. hasn't changed stylistically in decades.

That is great. I bowled one game with Mark Baker in the Pro Am back in the early eighties. Also WRW and David Ozio that same night. I loved Baker and Ozio and they were really friendly and helpful, but as for WRW, he seemed to sort of carry a Chip on his shoulder. Not very friendly. However, WRW did win that specific tournament beating Brian Voss in the title match. I believe Guppy Troop took 3rd. I don't emember who the other 2 bowlers were. I do recall Mike Auby, Steve Cook, PDW, and another tall slim left hander that threw about the same as Cook, but can't remember his name.

Randy, where do you get these Video's?

Yeah!  How is it that 19 years ago you could win $130k, and now people are bowling for $40k?

My guess is bowling actually had some integrity and respect back in the day. People didn't laugh at bowling and considered it a professional sport. Therefore it was more successful and probably had more money to go around. OR I could be completely wrong and it just might be this one tournament had a really high payout?

Score RandyO, another great vid. Can you post some of Holman and PDW? To answer your guys question about the 130,000 King Louie Open. When they said Baker won it, they flashed the total money paid out for the entire tournament, not what he won for first place, I think back in 86 first paid like 10 or 15k. Whereas in todays PBA, total tournament payout is like over 400k.

For some people (me included), when you download a .wmv file WMP doesn't play it directly. When you download it, select the "save" option. WMP will play the saved file. Try that.
It's probably a "security setting" somewhere that causes this. I just haven't felt like hacking around and figuring it out. Anyone else know the fix for this?
