Wow. Some guy brought a ball in today to have plugged and redrilled. No problem. What I noticed was the intense smell of gasoline when he walked through the door. Ok, maybe he just filled up his tank and got a little on his hand, or finished mowing his lawn or something. The ball was in a normal ball box with some wadded paper towels under it. I pick it up out of the box, and the paper towels are wet. The bottom of the ball is wet. It's a Tour Power, and this guy said his brother gave it to him. The freakin ball was sitting in gasoline soaked paper towels. ???

Forget Kung Fu, I know Ron Bahr!!!
The only difference between youth and adult leagues are that the big boys are allowed to whine. They're more entertaining anyway.

Heh, reminds me of the days I kept a small can of laquer thinner in my bag to clean my Gyro urethane with.

Before I read it was a tour power, I thought maybe Roto Grip went the way of storm with the scent of bowling balls.......the fuel with the smell of fuel would only make sense.

The worst we ever had was a guy hit a skunk with his truck and the smell came in the vents and onto his ball. He brought it in to be plugged and it stunk so bad we had to have him take it out. The proshop had residual skunk smell for two days afterwards.

I had a kid come in my shop wanting his grips change out once. He said that they kept coming out with the glue that he had used. I asked him what he was using. He said Elmores(sp) glue. I started to chuckle and asked him if he was serious. He said yes.

Hammy, You sure it wasn't a Top Fuel?

See you in St. Louis

Tour Power = Pure Fuel......hehehe
Nothing beats dumping the bottle of acetone on the floor either...stink the place up for the whole day and get a "contact high" off of it until it finally aired out.

If I could only pick up a 7 pin.....

Had a guy on my team bring his ball in. He decided to resurface it himself. He used his belt sander just in the ball track to remove the scratches. Said the rest of the ball looked good and didn't need resurfacing.
Had another guy that tried to use the oven to bake the oil out of his ball. Put it directly on the wire rack at about 300 deg.
