Soap stone

Some years ago my wife bought a soap stone for shoes at one of the women's nationals.  We would like to get 2 more but cannot find where to get them.  I believe they came from Utah or Arizona.  Can anyone help?

Soap stone is one of the oldest products available in a pro shop.  It can be obtained at any Home Depot or Lowe's in the welding supply.  Welders use it as a crayon.  Be careful how you use it on shoes as it may violate rule 12 if not used properly.

Well, if you don't mind paying less, you can probably find it in your local hardware store.  I believe they are used to mark metal and come in pencil thick sticks.  You might want to pick up a holder for it which is like a metal marker sized holder to put the soap stone 'lead' into.  It will keep the soap stone from breaking and you can use it to apply it to your shoes.  I believe I picked mine up from the local ACE hardware store many years ago.

I have used it for years on my thumb (I love super tight thumb holes). I scrape it down into a powder. Its not as slippery as baby powder or slide right... and each application lasts longer.

Brunswick sells a soap stone product called, "Slide Stone". it's part number is #860298-012.
