Just curious, but what is your opinion on whether or not they actually have a current USBC/PBA card and/or bowl? By bowling, I mean it can be either tournaments or leagues.

Actively participating has no relation to being able to teach or drill a ball.

I haven't bowled in 13 yrs nor held a USBC in that long and haven't had a PBA card for 14 yrs...I know nothing (:

I was curious because other sports have coaches who never played. My college football coach never even played high school football.
Of the different coaches I have had lessons from, I had no idea if they actually bowled or not. I have to assume that some didn't.

Just because one can throw a ball well does not mean they know layouts or coaching. Also, just because one understands the game does not mean one can drill or throw the ball well. I understand ball motion and layouts fairly well, but I do not consider myself a "tournament" bowler to the point of competing every week. I have people that I drill for that are in the top 2-3 bowlers in the state but they don't understand layouts not are they good at coaching. "Put what you think I need on the ball and drill it." IMO, think in today's game, it is difficult to find a person that can do it all (coach, drill, bowl)
